Global Prairie Bridges the Gap, Builds Connections with TOCA for Next Two Years

(Editor’s Note: Every two years, a marketing communications agency that is a member of TOCA steps up to the plate and provides pro bono services to TOCA for two items related to the annual meeting. One is to create a logo, which is showcased in this article. The second is to lead the creation of the power point presentation for the annual communications contest at the annual meeting. We are thrilled to know that Global Prairie, which counts Bayer among its many clients, will be providing this service for TOCA for the 2018 and the 2019 annual meetings. TOCA staff thanks the great folks at Global Prairie – with kudos especially to Caroline Pratt and Jenny Spurgeon – for bridging the gap for the next two years. Following is a view from Global Prairie about its creative thinking behind our 2018 logo for Cincinnati.)

With the New Year here, we couldn’t be more excited to debut the official logo for our 2018 Annual Meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio,  to be held at the historic Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza, May 1-3.

The design features the official TOCA logo beside an iconic Cincinnati bridge. It draws inspiration from two areas: Cincinnati as a city and you as green industry communicators.

The John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge, in the left of the logo, is a prominent feature in Cincinnati and often the first structure people notice as they’re entering the city. It spans across the Ohio River between Cincinnati, Ohio, and Covington, Kentucky. Fun fact: when it opened in 1866, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world at more than 1,000 feet in length.

As impressive as it is for its architectural design, however, the bridge is also a symbol of progress and of building connections. As communicators, TOCA members help to bridge the gaps between the green industry, its professionals and the public. It is that bridging role and that collaboration that make this organization special. And even among our members, we have built bridges and forged meaningful relationships between different publications, manufacturers and agencies for one common goal: to advance the green industry.

In that spirit of friendship and progress, we look to this New Year. Here’s to 2018, and here’s to seeing all of you in May.
