President Lacy Ravencraft Offers New Year’s Tips

Greetings TOCA members!
As we start the New Year, it’s easy to get fully consumed by the flurry of daily activity right out of the gate. And if you’re like me, your 2018 calendar is already filling up with commitments of all types – so I thought I’d share a tip I recently received on mapping out your annual calendar.
It was recommended to complete this exercise using a physical paper calendar, but whatever method used, the process is the same:
- Start by adding all known personal and family commitments. Involve your family to ensure important events are captured, and demonstrate how much you value these moments.
- Add in any required company or industry events and commitments. Don’t forget these important 2018 TOCA events:
- January 23-25: BIGGA’s British Turf Management Exhibition, Harrogate, England
- February 3-8: Golf Industry Show, San Antonio, Texas (TOCA Breakfast Feb. 8)
- May 1-3: TOCA Annual Meeting, Cincinnati, Ohio
- Finally, map out deadlines and allocate time to work on your 2018 priorities and milestones.
This way, you make sure to secure important dates in advance to avoid conflicts down the road, and also ensure progress toward your 2018 goals. Happy calendaring!
